Traces of Gods
Lena Slutskaya is worried by the light glowing in the attic of the opposite house where nobody lived. Trying to find out what it meant, she suspects that a murder is planned, and the possible victim is Pavel Shirokov, a prosperous businessman. The woman decides to warn him.
Meanwhile, weird things are happening in her own life. She is supposed to do things she would never do, and she is also seen where she has never been. Her former husband is horrified by her behavior, but Lena does not remember their meeting. Her lover suspects her of murdering Christopher Grabbe, a watchmaker.
But as weird as it seems, both past and future murders, as well as weird events in Lena’s life have the same reasons and are connected with the mysterious continent of Atlantis which disappeared long ago. The mystery of Atlantis neither stopped to agitate human imagination, nor did people stop seeking for its lost knowledge and treasures.
This is a part of “Gold” series which includes four novels:
— Book 1 – In the temple of Sun the trees are made of gold
— Book 2 – In the mountains closer to the sky
— Book 3 – The steps of Gods
— Book 4 – Easy steps in the Ocean.
This is a third book from the series “Gold” and it starts the new twist of the story.
This time we meet the new main characters – Lena Slutskaya, a divorced but yet young woman tired of dull daily routine, and Pavel Shirokov, a former “gangster” from 1990-s, an “honest businessman” nowadays. Pavel thinks his love is buried in the past; Lena guesses the future still hold surprises for her. They are brought together when Lena notices suspicious activity in the attic of the opposite house. Lena thought that a shooter could be hiding there, looking for the chance to kill Pavel. At the same time, Pavel’s business is attacked, and his house is haunted by the unknown enemy. Lena seems an innocent person, but several people saw her doing weird things and one of them, her boyfriend, is sure she is a murderer! These might be coincidences, but the dagger the enemy left in Pavel’s house could be from the mysterious Atlantis, the watchmaker killed by “fake Lena” had an old map of Atlantis, and Pavel while at school was very interested in the history of the “lost Continent”. The mysteries are enhanced by the “esoteric line” about the labyrinth where “Scrolls of Wisdom” were stored. Evil forces fought the keepers of the Scrolls to obtain them. To keep the Scrolls, their keepers decided to divide the “key” between several people. Are Lena and Pavel are somehow connected to that story? The answer will be in the next book!
